How outlets are covering it

Xbox Wire details the specific games, dates, and discounts for the October 29 to November 1 Free Play Days event. OpenCritic reports on a previous Free Play Days event from October 25, highlighting the split between games requiring Game Pass and those available to all users, but does not cover the current event. The two sources do not directly conflict, as they cover different time periods.

Why it matters

Free Play Days provides Xbox users with an opportunity to try new games without cost, potentially leading to increased sales through limited-time discounts. The event also highlights the variety of games available on Xbox, from soulslike RPGs to space shooters and horror titles.

What to watch

Xbox will likely continue its weekly Free Play Days events, offering new games for free. Players who purchase games during the event can retain their Gamerscore and achievements. Future events may include more titles from popular franchises or new releases.
