Bethesda's upcoming sci-fi RPG, Starfield, predicts that humans will reach Mars for the first time in 2050, with Elon Musk aiming to send one million people to Mars by 2050 as well. In the game, humans go beyond Mars and colonize Alpha Centauri, a triple star system in the Milky Way. While astronomers have been searching for an Earth-like planet near Alpha Centauri, it would take thousands of years to reach. Starfield's timeline suggests that humans will arrive at Alpha Centauri in 2156 and establish the United Colonies by 2159. The game will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 6.
