Florida Fire Captain Blinded in One Eye Due to Contaminated Eyedrops

Florida firefighter Adam Di Sarro has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturers of EzriCare Artificial Tears after losing vision in one eye from using the contaminated eye drops. The drops were laced with drug-resistant bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which has infected at least 68 people nationwide, causing three deaths, eight cases of blindness, and four eyeball removals. EzriCare Artificial Tears was the brand most commonly reported, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised patients and healthcare providers to immediately stop using the product. Di Sarro is also suing Amazon, which distributed the eye drops, and has accused the manufacturers of negligence.
