LinkedIn introduces free identity and employment verification with CLEAR partnership.

LinkedIn has introduced new ways for users to verify their identity and place of employment, partnering with CLEAR and Microsoft to provide free verification options. Users can display a "Verifications" section on their profile after providing their government-issued ID and phone number. Additionally, users can verify their place of employment with their company email, and eligible users can receive a digital workplace ID for free through Microsoft Entra Verified ID. Unlike Twitter and Meta, LinkedIn's verification features are free and focused on confirming users' identities to provide an extra layer of protection against fake or scam accounts.
