JBL unveils Cove: a three-model, Wi‑Fi multi-room speaker lineup to take on Sonos

JBL today unveiled the Cove line—M1, P1, and X1—a trio of Wi‑Fi connected speakers that can play alone, as a stereo pair, or in a linked multi-room setup to compete with Sonos; the M1 is a compact $229.95 model, P1 is a battery-powered $399.95 with up to 14 hours, and X1 is the $449.95 flagship with Dolby Atmos; they connect via Wi‑Fi, are managed by the JBL One app, offer automatic self-tuning, AI Sound Boost, Music Follows Me, support AirPlay 2, Spotify/Tidal/Qobuz, Google Cast, and Bluetooth, and integrate with JBL Bar Series MK2 for home theater; planned availability starts September 13.
