TL;DR

Apple is integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT into its iOS 18.2 update, allowing users to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus directly from the Settings app. This partnership aims to enhance Siri and other features with advanced AI capabilities. While OpenAI benefits from exposure, it's unclear if Apple will take a revenue cut from ChatGPT Plus subscriptions. The deal is non-exclusive, with Apple planning to integrate AI models from other developers. Meanwhile, OpenAI is navigating financial challenges and executive departures.
