iPhone 18 Pro Max ships with a firmware-imposed battery cap that unlocks after activation

TL;DR
Apple reportedly ships the iPhone 18 Pro Max with a firmware-enforced battery cap below 20Wh to meet shipping rules; the limit is automatically removed when you activate the device, restoring full charging. A manual Prepare to Ship mode can also cap charging at 80% for 14 days for repairs, trade-ins, or gifts, after which normal charging resumes.
