TL;DR

Microsoft is trimming Copilot branding across Windows 11: Notepad now exposes its AI features under the label Writing Tools (still powered by Copilot AI) and is available outside the Insider program, while Snipping Tool has fully removed the Copilot button in production. Microsoft says it will reduce unnecessary Copilot entry points and keep AI-enabled features only where genuinely useful, with plans to add optional AI agents to the taskbar in the future.
