"Risks of Inception-Style Attacks on Meta VR Headsets Revealed"

Researchers have discovered a potential security vulnerability in Meta's VR headsets, allowing attackers to spy on and control users' VR environments through an "inception attack." By hijacking the VR session, attackers can manipulate interactions, steal information, and even alter what users see and hear. The attack requires the hacker to be on the same WiFi network as the user and the headset to be in developer mode. Meta has not yet responded to the study, but stated they constantly work with academic researchers as part of their bug bounty program and other initiatives.
