Sony and Qualcomm extend deal to keep making Xperia smartphones for years to come.

Sony has extended its agreement with Qualcomm to use Snapdragon platforms to power its handsets for at least a few more years. The deal will cover Sony's upcoming premium devices, along with high- and mid-tier smartphones. Sony recently launched the Xperia 1 V, which runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Mobile Platform and is geared toward photographers and vloggers. The company also released the mid-range Xperia 10 V in May, which boasts a Snapdragon 695 chipset and a 60Hz, 1080p OLED display.
