University Student's 2-Day-Old Account Fixes Decades-Old Firefox Bug

A 22-year-old bug in Firefox, which caused tooltips to linger on the screen even when the browser was in the background, has finally been fixed by a university student with a two-day-old account on Bugzilla. The bug, reported in 2002, had been a persistent issue with various attempts at fixing it over the years. The fix, a small patch that checks if the document has focus, was pushed in September. The student, Yifan Zhu, received notable help from Emilio Cobos Álvarez and their fresh perspective proved instrumental in resolving the long-standing bug.
