"Xreal Air 2 Ultra: The Affordable AR Glasses Taking on Apple and Meta"
TL;DR
Xreal Air 2 Ultra, the successor to Nreal Light, is a true AR glasses that can place virtual objects in the real environment and generate a 3D mesh of the room, offering hand tracking, spatial anchors, and 2D image tracking. Priced at $700 and available for preorder, the glasses require a tethered USB-C connection to a Samsung Galaxy S23 or Galaxy S22 for true AR functionality, with a compute puck in development for non-compatible phones. Scheduled to start shipping in March, the glasses are primarily aimed at developers due to limited AR content at launch.
