Countdown Begins: Total Solar Eclipse to Sweep Across US in One Year.

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will sweep across the United States, with residents in major cities including Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Rochester seeing day turn to night for up to four minutes as the moon extinguishes the sun. Before the total solar eclipse, there will be an annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023. The path of totality will begin nearly 1,000 miles east-northeast of Samoa and arc across the equatorial Pacific before swinging ashore in Mazatlán in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.
