The FAA has completed inspections of the first 40 Boeing 737 MAX 9 airplanes, a crucial step in the process of potentially ungrounding the planes following a mid-flight cabin panel incident. After reviewing the inspection results, the FAA will determine if it is safe for the MAX 9s to resume flying. Alaska Airlines and United Airlines, the two U.S. carriers using the aircraft, have had to cancel numerous flights and have extended the cancellation of all MAX 9 flights through Wednesday.
