Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announced on Instagram that he is relocating from Seattle to Miami to be closer to his parents, who recently moved back to Florida. Bezos, who has lived in Seattle since 1994, expressed his emotional attachment to the city but cited personal reasons for the move. The decision is also influenced by the shifting operations of his space exploration company, Blue Origin, to Cape Canaveral. Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, have purchased neighboring mansions in Miami's "Billionaire Bunker" area. The absence of state capital gains taxes in Florida is also seen as a benefit for Bezos.
