Hacks Star Jean Smart Reacts to an Unpredictable Finale Twist
TL;DR
Jean Smart says she was taken aback by Hacks’ series-ending twist, noting she wanted to be surprised and didn’t ask how the finale would unfold. She ultimately calls the ending perfect, with co-showrunner Lucia Aniello promising that years of build‑up pay off in the final Vegas-set season, which sees Deborah Vance and Ava reuniting on a mission to rewrite Deborah’s legacy and includes a memorable episode where they pretend to date. The fifth and final season premieres on HBO on April 9.
