Heavy fighting broke out around the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, where thousands of patients and displaced people have been sheltering, as Israeli forces target medical facilities they claim Hamas militants use for cover. At least 12 people were killed when a shell struck the hospital. The World Health Organization evacuated 31 premature babies from Gaza City's Shifa Hospital, which was running out of supplies and fuel. Israel alleges that Hamas maintained a command post under Shifa Hospital, but these claims have been denied by Hamas and hospital staff. The war has displaced nearly three-quarters of Gaza's population, with over 11,500 Palestinians killed and 1,200 people killed on the Israeli side. In addition, Yemen's Houthi rebels seized an Israeli-linked cargo ship in the Red Sea and took its crew hostage.
