Surviving Captivity: Israeli Hostage's Account of Hamas' Deteriorating Conditions

A freed Israeli hostage, Ruti Munder, described deteriorating conditions during her captivity by Hamas in Gaza. Initially, they were fed well but as the economic situation worsened, people became hungry. Munder and other captives slept on plastic chairs and were prevented from opening the blinds. One released hostage required hospitalization, and another needed surgery. Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend their truce, exchanging hostages for prisoners. Israel declared war after a cross-border attack by Hamas, resulting in numerous casualties. The released hostages, mostly women and children, are undergoing physical and psychological tests before returning home.
