Ohio Man Charged with Murder After Fatally Shooting Uber Driver in Scam Misunderstanding

An 81-year-old Ohio man has been charged with murder after shooting and killing an Uber driver, Loletha Hall, whom he believed was involved in a phone scam targeting him. The man, William Brock, had been a victim of the scam and allegedly shot Hall multiple times after she arrived at his property to pick up a package for delivery, unaware of the scam. Video footage captured the confrontation, during which Brock demanded Hall's phone and shot her as she attempted to leave. Uber has banned the account of the person who ordered the service and expressed condolences to Hall's family.
