Hollywood Writers and Studios Close to Ending Strike: Sources

Negotiations between major Hollywood studio producers and striking writers are reportedly close to finalizing a new deal, with hopes of an agreement being reached tomorrow. The strike, which began in May, has been focused on protecting members' livelihoods amidst the growth of streaming entertainment and the use of generative AI tools in the industry. The Writer's Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) met on Wednesday, with executives from Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Universal also present. The outcome of the SAG-AFTRA strike and a potential strike against the gaming industry remain uncertain.
