Perez Hilton Hospitalized After Live Suicide Attempt and Overdose in Florida

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was treated for an overdose and self-inflicted injuries after a livestreamed suicide attempt at his Florida home. A fire rescue crew treated him on scene and transported him to a hospital on Aug. 4; his sister Barbara Lavandeira said he remains hospitalized and is receiving medical and mental-health care as he recovers. Lavandeira indicated he had been battling severe depression and had recently admitted taking painkillers to sleep, and his mother has filed for temporary custody of his three children as the family focuses on his recovery and privacy.
