Xbox Disc-to-Digital Goes Live for Insiders, Linking Physical Games to Digital Copies

Microsoft is rolling out a disc-to-digital feature (codename Positron) to Xbox Insiders, letting you redeem a digital version of thousands of games on Xbox One and Series X|S by inserting the physical disc. The digital copy includes Xbox Play Anywhere, cross-device access, and shared licenses; the disc can still be used to access the license, and the digital entitlement transfers if you sell the disc. OG Xbox/Xbox 360 discs aren’t supported, with more titles to be added over time as the rollout continues.
