Mounjaro Outperforms Ozempic in Weight-Loss Study

In a first-of-its-kind study, Eli Lilly's weight-loss drug, tirzepatide, outperformed Novo Nordisk's rival medication, semaglutide, in terms of weight loss. The study, which examined electronic health records of over 41,000 patients, found that patients on tirzepatide were three times more likely to have lost at least 15% of their body weight after a year. However, the results have yet to be peer-reviewed, and randomized studies comparing the two drugs have not been conducted. Novo Nordisk stock fell 2.7% following the study, while Eli Lilly stock remained flat.
