Over 7 Million Americans Successfully Receive Updated COVID Vaccines

Over 7 million Americans have received the updated COVID-19 shots designed for the Omicron subvariant, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the mRNA-based vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna for individuals aged six months and older. Novavax's protein-based shot also received regulatory clearance for individuals aged 12 years and older. This marks the first time COVID-19 vaccines are available through commercial markets, with approximately 56.5 million Americans having received bivalent COVID-19 shots introduced last year.
