Ukraine's Top Spy Chief's Wife Hospitalized with Suspected Poisoning

The wife of Ukraine's top military intelligence official, Marianna Budanova, has been hospitalized with apparent heavy metals poisoning, raising suspicions of Russian involvement. Test results also show that Ukrainian Defense Intelligence staff have been sickened. While American and western intelligence officials have not independently verified the poisoning, they believe Ukrainian reports to be accurate. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that it is highly likely that Russia is behind the poisoning. Russia has a history of carrying out extra-territorial poisonings against its enemies. The severity of Budanova's condition is currently unknown.
