Blinken's Jordan Visit: Ceasefire Calls, Airstrike Admissions, and Arab Leader Meetings

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with Middle East foreign ministers in Jordan on Saturday to hear demands for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The ministers from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan, along with Palestinian representatives, will emphasize the Arab stance calling for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and an end to the deteriorating situation. Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati also stressed the importance of a Gaza ceasefire during a meeting with Blinken. King Abdullah of Jordan has urged the international community to push for an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians, emphasizing the need for revived negotiations towards a two-state solution.
