Global Leaders Convene to Address Ukraine Crisis and Global Priorities

President Biden will meet with leaders from Central Asian nations, Israel, Brazil, and Ukraine during the U.N. General Assembly. The meeting with the "Stans" is significant as it will be the first time a U.S. president meets with leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Biden plans to discuss regional security, trade, climate, and governance issues. He will also meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with the latter visit coinciding with a request for $24 billion in funding to help Ukraine in its fight against Russia's invasion.
