Turkish Extortion Resentment and NATO Support: Biden Meets Swedish Prime Minister

Turkish President Erdogan stated that while Sweden has taken steps in the right direction for its NATO bid with anti-terrorism legislation, continued protests by Kurdish militant sympathizers undermine its efforts. Turkey has repeatedly called for Sweden to take more action against supporters of the PKK and those involved in the 2016 coup attempt. Sweden and Finland applied to join NATO last year, but their applications require approval from all NATO members, including Turkey and Hungary, which have yet to clear Sweden's bid.
