Ukraine claims to have killed the commander of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, Viktor Sokolov, along with 33 other officers in a military attack on the occupied peninsula of Crimea. The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces stated that the attack targeted the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, resulting in casualties and injuries among Russian servicemen. Moscow has reported one missing serviceman as a result of the attack. Ukraine has been increasingly targeting strategic Russian targets in Crimea, aiming for the de-occupation of Ukrainian Crimea.
