Mass Exodus from Sudan as Crisis Deepens at Port

Port Sudan has become a crucial hub for evacuations and humanitarian aid as Sudan's violence deepens. The port city is overwhelmed by people fleeing Khartoum and other places, with many sleeping rough on the streets as they wait for a way out. The fighting is a pitched battle for power between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group. Saudi Arabia has been evacuating people of 100 nationalities, with more than 5,000 people making the Red Sea crossing on Saudi warships or private vessels chartered by the Saudi military.
