UAW Strikes at GM and Stellantis Plants, Expanding Labor Disputes

The United Auto Workers (UAW) has expanded its strike against General Motors (GM) to the Spring Hill Assembly Plant in Tennessee, the company's largest manufacturing facility in North America. This comes after the UAW reached tentative agreements with Ford and Stellantis, leaving GM as the only Detroit Three automaker without a deal. The strike, now in its 44th day, has already cost GM $800 million. UAW President Shawn Fain is increasing pressure on GM to reach an agreement, using the strike as leverage.
