Henry Cavill Takes on the Sword in 'Highlander' Reboot: A Prequel to the Original Story
TL;DR
Director Chad Stahelski hints at his approach to the upcoming "Highlander" reboot, which will star Henry Cavill as the immortal Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod. Stahelski plans to launch a potential series of films and incorporate elements from the 1992 TV series. He wants to create a prequel that sets up the original film's climactic Gathering, allowing room for the franchise to grow. Stahelski sees "Highlander" as a rich mythology that can explore different time periods, nationalities, cultures, and characters. He praises the original film's ability to come together despite its disparate elements and cheesy moments.
