Deadly Tornado Ravages Southeastern Missouri, Leaving Multiple Fatalities and Injuries

A deadly tornado hit southeastern Missouri leaving behind widespread destruction and multiple fatalities. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has sent troopers to assist in search and recovery efforts. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center has issued tornado warnings in four major swaths of the Midwest and mid-South. There have been at least 478 tornado reports across 25 states so far this year, double the average for this point in a year, and linked to at least 63 deaths.
