Gaza at 1,000 days: near-total destruction and faltering ceasefire
On the 1,000th day of the Gaza war, authorities say Gaza is about 90% destroyed and Israel controls roughly 80% of the enclave, with at least 73,066 Palestinians killed (including 21,500 children) and thousands missing or wounded; a faltering, underfunded US-backed Board of Peace and limited aid deliveries have stalled reconstruction, leaving Gaza in ruins and facing famine risk amid vast rubble and stalled negotiations.
