"Mass Evacuation as Wildfires Engulf Greek Island of Rhodes"
TL;DR
Thousands of tourists and residents have been evacuated from the Greek island of Rhodes as a wildfire continues to spread. The fire, which has been burning for nearly a week, has forced the cancellation of flights and caused chaos as people flee to safer areas. The Greek fire brigade has moved 19,000 people to safety, with many being evacuated by private boats. Climate change is believed to be exacerbating the heatwaves and increasing the risk of wildfires in the region.
