Armed suspect targets Ohio gubernatorial candidate Acton at Canfield Fair; arrest made

At the Canfield Fair near Youngstown, an armed man lunged toward Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, injuring several people before Acton, who was unhurt, helped the injured. The suspect, Patrick Havas, 38, of Canfield, was arrested by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office; two handguns and brass knuckles were recovered after security intervened. Acton’s campaign condemned the violence as unacceptable, and authorities said charges will be pursued after consulting with the county prosecutor.
