Democrats Counter Trump’s SOTU With National Mall Rally
TL;DR
Democrats plan to skip or quietly attend Trump’s State of the Union and instead host a competing event, the 'People’s State of the Union,' on the National Mall organized by MoveOn and MeidasTouch, featuring lawmakers and constituents affected by Trump policies; leaders say the boycott aims to avoid distractions and shift focus to personal stories, though it’s unclear how many will participate.
