Ethics panel backs censure for Rep. Edwards over staff conduct
TL;DR
The House Ethics Committee recommended censuring Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) for persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct toward two young female staffers; Edwards denies wrongdoing and calls the report extraordinarily harsh, with the panel noting no sexual activity but warning the behavior could be misinterpreted, as he faces reelection against Democrat Jamie Ager.
