"Florida GOP Removes Christian Ziegler as Chair Amid Sexual Assault Allegations"
TL;DR
Florida's Republican Party has removed Christian Ziegler as party chairman amid a sexual assault investigation. Ziegler, who has not been criminally charged, was suspended and had all his authority removed last month. The party voted to replace him with Evan Power. Ziegler and his wife, Bridget, are under investigation for allegedly planning a sexual encounter with the victim, and Ziegler is also being investigated for potential video voyeurism. Despite facing calls to resign from prominent Florida Republicans, Ziegler maintains that the encounter was consensual.
