"President Ramaphosa urges Putin to end Ukraine war, citing global impact"

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, part of a peace-seeking delegation, told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the conflict in Ukraine had to stop and that the war must be settled through negotiations and diplomatic means. The delegation, consisting of seven African leaders, held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Friday. Putin gave African leaders a list of reasons why he believed many of their proposals were misguided, pouring cold water on a plan already largely dismissed by Kyiv.
