Trump nominates E.J. Antoni as new BLS Commissioner
TL;DR
President Trump announced the nomination of E.J. Antoni, a Heritage Foundation economist, as the new BLS commissioner after firing the previous head, Erika McEntarfer, following controversial revisions to job creation data that Trump claimed were manipulated. Antoni's appointment requires Senate confirmation, and the move raises concerns about the credibility of economic statistics.
