Trump Plans to Appoint Kash Patel as New FBI Director
TL;DR
Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Kash Patel as the next FBI director, replacing Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump in 2017. Wray would need to resign or be fired to create a vacancy. Trump praised Patel as a loyalist and "America First" advocate, expressing confidence in his ability to restore integrity to the FBI. This announcement follows Trump's growing dissatisfaction with Wray, particularly after the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago and subsequent legal issues.
