Trump's Eligibility for 2024 Colorado Ballot Under Scrutiny

A trial has begun in a Denver court to determine whether former President Donald Trump should be barred from Colorado's 2024 ballot due to his alleged role in the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of six voters, argues that Trump violated his oath of office and should be prohibited from running in future elections under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. The judge rejected Trump's attempts to dismiss the lawsuit and move the case to federal court. Similar challenges to Trump's eligibility for the 2024 presidential ballot are also underway in Minnesota, New Hampshire, Arizona, and Michigan. Trump has denied wrongdoing and called the lawsuit "nonsense" and "election interference."
