West African Leaders Coordinate Military Intervention in Niger Amid Political Turmoil

West African leaders, through the regional bloc ECOWAS, have developed a plan for potential military intervention to reverse the recent coup in Niger. ECOWAS has imposed sanctions on Niger and threatened the use of force if the coup leaders do not restore power to the elected president by Sunday. The decision on intervention will be made by the heads of state.
