Cardinals Release Colt McCoy, Kyler Murray's PUP List Status Uncertain
TL;DR
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will begin the 2023 season on the reserve/PUP list, meaning he will miss at least the first four games due to his recovery from an ACL tear and torn meniscus. In a surprising move, the Cardinals have released Colt McCoy, who served as Murray's backup for the past two seasons. The team's decision to release McCoy creates cap space and provides younger players with more opportunities. McCoy, who is turning 37, may now consider retirement or search for another playing opportunity.
