Detroit Lions Seek New Offensive Coordinator After Morton’s Departure
TL;DR
The Detroit Lions have fired offensive coordinator John Morton after a tumultuous 2025 season marked by a significant decline in the team's run offense, despite finishing as the fifth-highest scoring offense. Morton, who was hired to replace Ben Johnson, faced criticism for his play-calling, leading to his relief from those duties mid-season. The team is now searching for a new offensive coordinator, with uncertainty about whether the new hire will call plays.
