TL;DR

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will start the 2023 NFL season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, meaning he will miss at least the first four games due to his ACL injury. The team also released Colt McCoy, leaving the Cardinals with Josh Dobbs or rookie Clayton Tune as potential starters. Head coach Jonathan Gannon declined to name a starter for the regular-season opener, but Dobbs, recently acquired via trade, seems to be a leading candidate. Murray's recovery timeline suggests he could miss more than a month of the season.
