Taylor Decker requests release from Lions after decade-long run

Taylor Decker, the Lions' longest-tenured player, has requested a release after 10 seasons, citing unresolved contract talks and a requested pay cut on his $14.9 million base salary; releasing him would free about $15 million in cap space for Detroit. Decker had suggested a potential return in 2026 but opted for an amicable end as Detroit figures out its left tackle and interior-line needs in free agency.
