Texas A&M hires Mike Elko as new head coach, Dabo Swinney also a potential candidate
TL;DR
Texas A&M is set to hire Mike Elko, former defensive coordinator for the Aggies, as their next football coach. Elko, who had a successful run at Duke, emerged as the top choice after a deal with Kentucky's Mark Stoops fell through. Under Elko's leadership, Texas A&M's defense excelled, and the team achieved a 34-14 record. Elko's task now is to guide the Aggies back to SEC contention as the conference prepares to add Texas and Oklahoma in 2024. The hiring of Elko aims to maintain the talented roster and bring success to the program.
