Apple and Google are collaborating to prevent lost item trackers like Apple's AirTag from being used to track people without their consent. The companies will update Bluetooth technology to alert victims to unwanted trackers and build the feature into Android and iOS. The update will be completed by the end of 2023 and implemented in future versions of iOS and Android. Other lost item trackers will also be able to build similar alert features.
